On November 26, the College of International Education held the 'Reunion from a Thousand Miles, Campus Filled with Affection - 2023 International Alumni Meeting.' International alumni currently in China were invited back to the campus to reminisce about old times and discuss future developments.

Dean of the CIE, Pei Bei participated throughout the alumni return event and warmly welcomed the returning alumni. The dean emphasized that the purpose of hosting the international alumni meeting is to maintain long-term contact with our international alumni, providing a platform to strengthen the sharing of successful experiences and cooperation among alumni, the connection between alumni and their Alma mater, and the legacy and bond between alumni and current students.

During the event, we introduced the latest developments of the Zhejiang Gongshang University to the alumni, as well as the efforts and recent achievements of the CIE in providing a richer study abroad experience for international students in China. Dean Pei Bei shared the future work prospects of the CIE and expressed the hope for deeper communication and cooperation with our alumni, encouraging them to actively return to school for guest lectures, experience sharing, providing internships, recruiting outstanding graduates, etc. At the meeting, alumni freely expressed themselves, each sharing their personal experiences in China regarding study, life, and entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial alumni also actively discussed visa issues, entrepreneurial channels, and company registration in China.

In the afternoon of the alumni meeting, several current international students were invited to participate in the alumni sharing session. Distinguished alumni representatives Mugisha, Kamyab, Anas, and Farrukh each shared their journeys of choosing to start businesses in China, introduced the advantages of Hangzhou and Zhejiang, and encouraged current students to actively plan, find their goals and opportunities. Students at the event eagerly sought advice and expressed their queries to their senior alumni, who responded with thoughtful and detailed answers.

‘These events really make the university feel like home. Once again, thank you for your dedication to strengthening the bond among Zhejiang Gongshang University alumni. I appreciate the effort from CIE that went into making this event a success and look forward to future opportunities to reconnect and contribute to our Alma mater.’ 'It's quite heartwarming to return to our Alma mater again.' Our alumni expressed that this gathering was very meaningful, hoping to maintain a long-term connection with their Alma mater and looking forward to contributing to it.
