West Lake is so beautiful. It is said to have been transformed from a beautiful pearl. Do you want to hear this legend?

Why do tourists have to go to the Broken Bridge when they visit the West Lake? What legend does the Leifeng Pagoda across the Broken Bridge contain?

What’s the romantic story related to the ancient Wansong Academy in Hangzhou?

In the era of advanced internet, Hangzhou is known as the capital of modern e-commerce. It is also a romantic city with a long history. This city has left behind many legendary stories, which are popular and passed down from generation to generation. They are the crystallization of ancient wisdom.

At 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 6th, the Teaching and Research Office of the College of International Education will hold the first Qiantang Tea Forum teacher-student communication activity, with the theme of City Stories - Hangzhou Folklore. The main speakers of this event include experienced teachers such as Zhang Junying, Pei Bei, and Wang Xiaohui, who have taught the course Outline of China and Chinese language.

The teachers have prepared vivid stories, videos, music, and interesting activities. We believe that after listening to these legendary stories, students will be able to understand more about the unique connotations behind the West Lake scenic spots and better understand why Hangzhou is romantic. This is also a great opportunity to learn Chinese language and culture! Let's take a look at the three stories first:

West Lake Story Jade Dragon and Golden Phoenix: West Lake was originally a pearl.

West Lake Broken Bridge and The Legend of the White Snake Lady: This bridge is a bridge of love.

Wansong Academy and Butterfly Lovers: The story of the young couple transforming into butterflies moves people's hearts.

The Qiantang Tea Forum series of activities is part of the Zhejiang Gongshang University International Student National Education Master Studio project, aimed at creating a valuable opportunity for international students to learn Chinese, understand China, and get to know Hangzhou face-to-face with teachers after class. It is also an important platform for zero-distance communication between teachers and students.

We have prepared 30 seats for this first activity, on a first-come-first-served basis. Interested students welcome to sign up and participate!
