一、学院概况 About our School
统计与数学学院具有悠久的办学历史，最早可追溯至1945年学校开设的统计科。1980年招收首届商业计划统计专业本科生，1990年获得统计学硕士点，2003年获得统计学博士点。目前,学院具备从本科、硕士、博士到博士后完整的人才培养体系。学院拥有5个本科专业，7个二级学科硕士点和应用统计专业学位硕士点，9个二级学科和交叉学科博士点。学院师资力量雄厚，现有教职员工106余人，其中教授32人，副教授31人，80%以上专业教师拥有海外学习经历。在校生1466余人，其中国际留学生69余人。每年招收260余位本科生、170余位硕博研究生。
The School of Statistics and Mathematics(SSM) has a very long history, which can be traced back to the statistics department opened in 1945. In 1980, it enrolled the first undergraduates majoring in business planning statistics. In 1990, it received a Master degree qualification in statistics, then a doctor degree in statistics in 2003. At present, the school has a complete talent training system from undergraduate, Master, Doctor to Postdoctoral. it has 5 undergraduate majors, 7 second-level discipline Master programs and Applied Statistics program (professional degree), and 9 second-level disciplines and interdisciplinary doctoral programs. It has a strong faculty and has more than 106 faculty members, including 32 professors and 31 associate professors. More than 80% of professional teachers have overseas study experience. There are more than 1,466 students, including 70 international students. It enrolls more than 260 undergraduates and more than 170 graduate students each year.

金融统计、风险管理与保险精算是统计学在金融保险领域的应用,本专业在课程模块的设计上着重于培养金融统计和风险管理方面技能合格的人员，培养学生在处理商业和贸易方面实际问题时的分析和创造的能力，致力于培养在金融领域内发展新统计方法的专业科研人才。
Financial statistics, risk management and insurance actuarial is the application of statistics in the field of finance and insurance. The design of the course modules of this major focuses on cultivating qualified personnel with financial statistics and risk management skills, and training students to deal with practical problems in business and trade. With the current analysis and creative ability, he is committed to cultivating professional scientific research talents who develop new statistical methods in the financial field.

High reputation of discipline
经过几代统计人赓续接力，学科地位和实力稳步提升。在2016年教育部第四轮学科评估中，统计学一级学科并列全国第七，继第三轮学科评估后再次进入全国前10%。
High Academic Reputation: After continuous development, the status and strength of our discipline have been steadily improved. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation by the MOE in in 2016, statistics ranked seventh in China, and again entered the top 10% after the third round of discipline evaluation.

Perfect training system
学院设有本科、硕士、博士和博士后等完整的教学培养体系，拥有统计学一级学科硕士点、一级学科博士点和博士后流动站。
Comprehensive student training system. It has a complete teaching and training system for undergraduates, masters, doctors and post-doctors. It can grant first-level Master degree, Doctor degree in Statistics, and also a post-doc research center.

项目形成了以高层次人才为引领，中青年教师为主体的学术团队。现有教授32人，博士生导师16人，国内外兼职特聘教授13人，副教授及青年博士教师36人。师资队伍中80%均有海外学习经验，主干教师中有日本早稻田大学、美国康奈尔大学、印第安纳大学等海外名校高层次人才。
The program has formed an academic team led by high-level talents and young and middle-aged teachers as the main body. There are 32 professors, 16 doctoral supervisors, 13 domestic and foreign part-time distinguished professors, and 36 associate professors and young doctoral teachers. 80% of the faculty have overseas study experience, and the main teachers include high-level talents from prestigious overseas universities such as Waseda University in Japan, Cornell University in the United States, and Indiana University in the United States.

该方向团队近五年，获国家基金6项，教育部人文社科项目等省部级项目8项。成果获浙江省科技进步三等奖、省优秀教学成果一等奖。在《Insurance Mathematics & Economics》《Statist. Sinica》《Bernoulli》《中国科学:数学》(中英文版)等期刊发表论文50余篇，其中SCI检索40余篇，国内一级期刊10余篇。
The teaching team in this direction has received 6 national funds and 8 provincial and ministerial projects such as the Humanities and Social Sciences Project of the MOE in the past five years. They won the third prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award and the first prize of Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement. they have published more than 50 papers in journals such as Insurance Mathematics & Economics, Statist. Sinica, Bernoulli, Science in China: Mathematics (Chinese and English edition), among which more than 40 are indexed by SCI and more than 10 are domestic first-level journals.

为了完善的实践教学环境，统计学院实验中心购置了SAS、SPSS、EViews、STATA等国际上主流的统计分析软件，拥有电话调查系统、网络调查系统，具有实时更新的国民经济数据库、金融数据库、财务分析数据库。

学院每年会定期组织开展“创新管理、信息与生产的国际学术研讨会”（The International Symposium on Innovative Management, Information &Production）、复合指标和综合评价国际学术研讨会等国际会议，邀请来自世界各地的专家学者共同参会，探讨统计学理论前沿发展。
SSM school regularly organizes international conferences such as The International Symposium on Innovative Management, Information & Production , “the International Symposium on Composite Indicators and Comprehensive Evaluation”, and invites plenty of experts and Scholars from all over the world to participated in the conference to discuss the frontier development of statistical theory. All excellent participating papers will be recommended for publication in international English journals such as Journal of Intelligent Technology and Applied Statistics.
四、教学形式 Teaching Methods
所有课程均使用英语作为教学语言。
All professional courses are English-instructed.
在指导方式上，成立国际生博士导师组，每位导师组由3-5名专业导师组成，负责制定研究计划；学术指导；检查学生在各个领域的进步等。
In terms of guidance, a supervisor group for international students is established. Each group consists of 3-5 professional professors who are responsible for formulating research plans; offering academic guidance; checking the progress of students in various fields, etc.
五、课程设置 Main courses
本专业学分设置为14学分。
The credits for this program are set to 14 credits.
课程分为四大模块：
The course is divided into four modules:
（1）学位课 Degree courses
统计学理论前沿、统计学方法论等；
Frontiers of Statistics Theory, Statistics Methods, etc.;
（2）必修课 Compulsory courses
中国汉语和中国概况等；
Chinese langugae and the outline of China, etc.;
（3）选修课 Elective courses
金融风险管理专题、金融时间序列等
Financial risk management topics, financial time series, etc.;
（4）学术活动 Academic activities
博士研究生应积极参加国内外各项学术会议和学术活动。
PhD students should actively participate in various academic conferences and activities at home and abroad.

苏为华教授
学科带头人苏为华教授，博士、教授、博士生导师，现为浙江工商大学副校长，享受国务院政府特殊津贴，原国内贸易部有突出贡献专家，担任中国统计学会副会长、教育部高等学校统计学类专业教学指导委员会委员、中国统计教育学会常务理事、中国商业统计学会常务理事等学术兼职。
Professor Weihua Su, Ph.D., Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, the leader of Statistics discipline, Vice president of Zhejiang Gongshang University, enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, and an expert with outstanding contributions from the former Ministry of Domestic Trade. He is Vice president of national statistical society of China, member of the Teaching Steering Committee for Statistics in Higher Education of the MOE, Executive director of the Statistical Education Society of China, Executive director of the Commerce Statistical Society of China And other academic part-time jobs.

陈振龙，概率统计方向博士。统计与数学学院院长，教授，博士生导师，浙江省数学学会常务理事，中国现场统计研究会高维数据统计分会常务理事，曾入选省新世纪高层次人才工程入选人员等。主要研究领域有：金融统计、随机过程与风险管理、随机分形等。
Zhenlong Chen , PhD in probability and statistics. Dean of the School of Statistics and Mathematics, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Executive Director of Zhejiang Mathematical Society, Executive Director of High-Dimensional Data Statistics Branch of China Association for Applied Statistics，talent of the”New Century high-level talent project”. Research fields are: financial statistics, stochastic process and risk management, stochastic fractal, etc.
陈钰芬教授
陈钰芬，博士。统计与数学学院副院长，教授，博士生导师。担任浙江省统计学会副会长、中国商业统计学会常务理事、浙江省现场统计研究会理事等。主要研究领域为社会经济统计方法及应用等。
Yufen Chen, Ph.D., Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Vice dean of the School of Statistics and Mathematics，Vice president of Zhejiang Statistical Association, the Executive director of the Commerce Statistical Society of China, and the director of Zhejiang Association for Applied Statistics. The main research areas are socio- economic statistical methods and applications.
程开明教授
程开明，统计学博士，教授，博导，现为浙江工商大学统计与数学学院副院长。入选浙江省第一批“之江青年社科学者”行动计划，浙江省新世纪“151”人才工程第三层次培养人员等。担任中国商业统计学会常务理事等，主要研究领域为经济统计学。
Kaiming Cheng, Ph.D., Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Vice dean of the School of Statistics and Mathematics，the third level training personnel of the New Century 151 Talent Project in Zhejiang Province，and has been funded by the Zhijiang Young Social Science Scholars action plan，Executive director of the Commerce Statistical Society of China.Research direction is economic statistics.

My name is Mohib Ur Rahman and I am an Assistant professor at University of Buner located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. I had the good fortune to have completed my PhD from the Department of Statistics and Mathematics, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Hangzhou China. My supervisor was Dr. Bing Xu and I had a grand time. There are 3 things that made my time at Gongshang Statistics department wonderful: the faculty, the students, the university and the location. I can safely say that my experience at Zhejiang Gongshang University was one of my best. Happy 110th anniversary to ZJSU. I wish you many more years of success.
